How to Start a Business In Michigan

Here are a few steps to take to start a new business in the state of Michigan.

1. Select your business structure.

Sole-proprietor, LLC, Partnership, Corporation, etc.

2. Register your new business name.

3.  Register your new business with Michigan.

4. Open a Business Checking Account.

You will need to open a separate bank account for your business using your new business name.

5. Find out about taxes and hire an accountant.

6. Liability Insurance.

You may wish to have liability insurance depending on what type of business you are starting.

7. City License.
